Meet our new Executive Director - Susan Morrison!

Susan Morrison, Cape Breton Food Hub’s new Executive Director, 2026

Dear Food Hub Members,

I’m very pleased to introduce myself as the new Executive Director of the Cape Breton Food Hub.

I’m excited to be joining an organization with such an important role in our community, and I want to reassure our members that the Food Hub is in good hands. I’m looking forward to working alongside our staff, producers, members, partners, and Board of Directors to build on the strong foundation that has already been established.

My mandate is focused on three key areas: raising the profile of the Food Hub, developing new and sustainable revenue streams, and strengthening our contribution to food security across Cape Breton.

I see tremendous opportunity to grow awareness of the Food Hub and the important work we do connecting local producers with consumers. At the same time, I want to explore new opportunities that can strengthen our financial sustainability and allow us to expand our impact.

Most importantly, I believe the Food Hub can play an even greater role in building a resilient local food system and improving access to local food for people and communities across Cape Breton.

Over the coming months, I’ll be taking the time to listen, learn, and connect with our members and partners. Your ideas, experience, and feedback will be an important part of shaping where we go next.

Thank you for welcoming me to the Food Hub community. I’m excited about what we can accomplish together and look forward to meeting many of you in the weeks ahead.

Warm regards,

Susan Morrison
Executive Director
